FAQ

Questions, answered honestly.

Everything operators ask us most—signing, pricing, groups and minors, records, and what leaving looks like. Can't find yours? Email us and a founder will answer.

Signing

How do guests sign a waiver?

Each waiver has a unique public link and QR code. Send the link by email or text, put it in a booking confirmation, embed it on your website, or print the QR code at your counter. Guests sign on their own device and never need to create an account.

Can guests sign before they arrive?

Yes—that's the point. A link in your booking confirmation means most guests walk in already signed, and your roster shows exactly who still needs to.

What about walk-ins without a phone, or spots with no signal?

Kiosk mode turns any supported tablet into a focused, branded signing station, and offline signing keeps working without a connection—completed waivers sync when you're back online.

Does signing work on any device?

Any modern phone, tablet, or computer with a web browser. There's no app to install for guests or staff.

Can you convert our existing waiver?

Yes, free. Send us the document your organization uses today and we'll turn it into a polished digital flow. We digitize your document without changing or providing legal advice on its terms.

Plans & billing

How does pricing work?

Plans are based on signed waivers per month: Free ($0/20), Starter ($15/100), Growth ($29.99/500), Business ($49.99/1,000), Scale ($119.99/2,500), and custom Enterprise. Annual plans cost 10 months' price with a pooled yearly allowance—useful for seasonal businesses.

What is the founding offer?

The first 100 businesses get Starter for $10/month for their first 12 months. It's a genuine cap—when 100 businesses have claimed it, it ends.

What happens when we reach our monthly allowance?

Signing never stops. Extra completed waivers are billed at $0.15 each, and we notify your team at 50%, 80%, and 100% of your allowance. If overages regularly exceed the next plan's price, we recommend the cheaper upgrade—your plan is never changed silently.

We're seasonal. Do we pay all year?

No. Pause Mode keeps your records and settings hosted for $5/month while you're closed, and annual plans pool your allowance across the year so a busy summer and a dead winter average out.

We just run one or two events a year—do we need a subscription?

No. The $29 Event Pass covers a single event with up to 300 signed waivers. No subscription, no recurring charge.

Is there a contract?

No contract. Every plan is cancel-anytime, and cancellation is self-service.

Groups, events & minors

How do group and event waivers work?

Create an event and it gets its own signing link and roster. Signed, missing, and expired states update live, so you know who's ready before anyone reaches the gate. You can also give an organizer limited visibility into their own group's status.

Can parents sign for multiple children?

Yes. A guardian adds each minor once and completes all required forms in one signing session. Each minor appears individually on your roster, tied to the guardian who signed.

Are waivers signed by a guardian for a minor enforceable?

It varies significantly by jurisdiction, activity, and document—we won't pretend otherwise. Waiver Studio preserves clear evidence of who signed, for whom, and in what capacity; have qualified counsel review the language you use for minors.

Records & security

What does a signed record contain?

The exact document version signed, participant details, the signature, timestamp and timezone, the consent disclosure shown, and signing activity—preserved together and exportable as a PDF.

Are electronic waivers legally binding?

Electronic signatures are recognized in many jurisdictions, including under the US ESIGN Act and UETA. Enforceability still depends on your document, signing process, activity, and local law—so your waiver language should be reviewed by qualified counsel. Our guide on this topic covers the honest details.

How is our data protected?

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, staff access is role-based and logged, and Waiver Studio is SOC 2 compliant. See the Security page for the practices we've implemented.

Does signing add guests to a marketing list?

Never automatically. Any marketing permission is a separate, optional consent—signing a waiver is signing a waiver, nothing else.

Leaving

What happens to our records if we cancel?

Cancellation is self-service and immediate. Export your complete account, keep free read-only access for 90 days, and permanently own every PDF you download. Pause Mode ($5/month) keeps everything hosted if you'd rather not export.

Can we get our data out?

Anytime, in full: signed PDFs individually or in bulk, roster exports, and a complete account export. No export fees, no support ticket required.
